We are pleased to announce that the Tour Salon Fair of Regions and Tourist Products is pleased to assume patronage of the early medieval festivities in Golaszyn, organized by the Radzim Castle Historical Association. The festivities will take place on May 17-19. this one is an extraordinary event that has been attracting attention from those interested in history and tradition and lovers of fun.
On behalf of the Radzim Castle Historical Association, we are pleased to invite you to the annual early medieval festivities held in Golashyn near Radzim. Ostrów Radzimski is a former island (now a peninsula) on the Warta River located 5 km northwest of Murowana Goślina. On the island there was an important stronghold not only during the times of the Gniezno state, but also later, during the time of the district split and the battles of the dukes of Greater Poland. A trade route between Gniezno and Western Pomerania ran through it. From the 12th to the 14th century, there was a castellany here called Radzimska.
This year, specifically on May 17-19, the clearing in the village of Golaszyn near Oborniki will host around 100 teams and stalls, with a total of around 900 reenactors from all over Poland. Numerous stalls with early medieval clothing, jewelry, ancient crafts in wood, toys or food will be present at the event. Competitions will be organized, such as match throw, rag toss, ox run, one-on-one duels, archery tournament, axe throwing and many others. Games, games and workshops for children and adults are planned, among others in a village of plebeian games. A spectacular highlight of the entire event will be a grand battle reconstruction, in which hundreds of warriors will take part. Plenty of surprises are also planned, among which there will be something for everyone. Every year the festivities are very popular among the local population, which means that each year there are more visitors and visiting teams. The event is open to everyone, and there is no charge for admission.
